Botanical printing, also known as eco-printing, is a unique artistic technique that uses the inherent beauty of plant materials to create intricate, one-of-a-kind patterns on fabric or paper. By carefully selecting and arranging leaves, flowers, and other plant elements, participants will learn how to transfer natural pigments and tannins through the application of heat and pressure. You'll have the chance to create your own composition on wool, a textile that responds ideally for the dyeing process… layering and arranging plant materials to craft an original design. FLORABUNDANCE is the creative endeavor of Bonnee Pecquex, a master fiber artist who transforms fine linens and silks into delicate works of art through botanical pressing and tannic acid printing. Her sophisticated practice beautifully reflects our philosophy of new naturalism, working in harmony with nature to craft timeless, organic pieces. Bonnee gathers leaves and flowers, both foraged and cultivated, incorporating them into her all-natural process alongside plant-based dyes. Her dedication to engaging with and being immersed in the natural world is at the core of her artistry, creating a deep connection between her work and the environment that inspires it.
